She did but the noise went on for 10 more minutes so I suppose my request wasn't important enough to cause someone to actually ask them to speak softly.įor Diana, while her massage was ok, it too didn't make sense to me. After struggling to relax and tune it out, I finally asked Diana to stop and ask that they keep it down. My massage therapist was Diana and for the first 15 minutes of the massage, I had to listen to a group of men (bachelor party) laughing and talking loudly during their check out. There's no aromatherapy options (at least I wasn't offered any) and no deep breathing practices to help you relax. My massage started 10 minutes late which is normally not a big deal when the environment is quiet and relaxing but in this place, you just want to get the show on the road. Instead, you hear EVERYTHING that's happening around you - construction noise from outside, the host greeting new guests and checking old ones out, carts rolling across the wood floor, every conversation, etc. The location is small and although there is soothing music in the background, you can't really hear it. You are offered tea but the ambiance of this place is just all wrong. You are not given a robe, spa shoes, neck warming, nothing. When you check in, you fill out a questionnaire and once the host is ready for you, you're taken to a small waiting room in the back of the facility. The bathroom is outside of the spa so heaven forbid you have to use the restroom during your service, you'll have to exit and come back. This place is nothing more than a slightly upgraded Massage Envy. A spa is a place where you go to relax, escape and receive great care and attention to the body in the form of various therapies. Here, you don't have to worry about anyone pushing product on you there's nothing special about any of the products they use for massage or facials - you can get them at a local drug store or Ulta.Ĭons: This place is really not a spa in my opinion. The host was kind enough to call and confirm my intentions and corrected my error. I made an error with my facial reservation - I thought I booked a facial but instead I booked a back facial. Pros: The location is in Historic Mckinney where there's ample access to parking, dining and shopping. I was scheduled to do an 80 minute massage with Diana and then 65 minute facial. Today was my first visit to this "spa" and all I can say is that I just don't get this place. I usually go to Spa Habitat in Plano but given that I live in McKinney, I was looking for a place closer to home to continue regular massages and facials. We should embrace the treasures left behind, respect our environment, appreciate the beauty in nature, and nourish our bodies with real food.Given others reviews, I had great hopes for this place.
